머스크, 베이조스 제치고 세계 최고 부자 됐다
작년 한해 순자산 163조원 늘어…역사상 가장 빠른 증가 속도
미국 전기차회사 테슬라의 최고 경영자(CEO)인 일론 머스크가 세계 최고 부자에 등극했다. 테슬라의 주가가 폭등하면서 머스크의 자산이 크게 늘었기 때문이다.
블룸버그통신은 7일(현지 시각) 오전 10시 15분 기준으로 머스크의 순자산이 1885억 달러(약 205조 8420억원)로 제프 베이조스 아마존 CEO를 15억 달러(약 1조 6380억원)차이로 제치고 1위에 올랐다고 보도했다.

CNBC방송 집계로도 머스크의 순자산은 1850억 달러(약 202조 200억원)로 1840억 달러(약 200조 9280억원)의 베이조스를 넘어섰다.

세계 최고 부자가 바뀐 것은 3년 3개월 만이다. 블룸버그 억만장자지수에서 베이조스가 1위에 오른 것은 지난 2017년 10월이다. 베이조스는 이후 이 자리에서 내려온 적이 없었다.
머스크는 지난해 초만 해도 순자산 270억 달러(약 29조4840억원)로 50위권 수준이었다. 하지만 지난 한 해 테슬라 주가가 740%나 폭등하고, 해가 바뀌고도 크게 오르면서 머스크의 순위도 이에 발 맞춰 올랐다. 머스크는 테슬라의 지분 20%를 보유하고 있고, 스톡옵션을 통한 미실현 장부상 이익도 420억 달러(약 45조8640억원)에 달한다.
블룸버그는 지난해 머스크의 순자산이 1500억 달러(약 163조 8000억원) 이상 증가해 역사상 가장 빠른 속도로 불어났다고 보도했다.
베이조스 입장에서는 아마존 주가의 상승세가 원만해진 것이 머스크의 추격을 허용한 이유가 됐다. 지난해 1월 1800달러 후반이던 아마존 주가는 9월 2일 3541달러까지 올랐지만, 이후 3000달러 초반 선에서 횡보하고 있다.
