美CDC, 한국 여행경보 최고 3단계로 격상…中과 동급

    24일(현지 시간) 미국 질병통제예방센터(CDC)가 한국에 대한 여행경보를 2단계에서 3단계로 격상했다. 지난 22일 한국에 대한 여행경보를 2단계로 발령한 지 이틀 만에 나온 조치로, 한국에서 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19)이 빠르게 확산된 데 따른 대응이라는 분석이다. CDC는 이날 한국에 대한 여행경보를 3단계로 높이며 “미국인들은 불필요한 한국 여행을 자제해야 한다”고 안내했다고 미 블룸버그 통신 등은 전했다.

CDC의 여행 경보는 1단계 ‘주의’, 2단계 ‘경계’, 3단계 ‘경고’로 구분된다. 1단계는 일반적인 보건상의 주의가 필요할 때, 2단계는 좀 더 높은 주의가 필요할 때, 3단계는 질병이 창궐했을 때 발령한다. CDC는 지난 4일 코로나19 발원지인 중국에 여행경보 3단계를 내린 바 있다.

지난 22일 한국에 대해 4단계 중 2단계인 여행 경보를 발령한 국무부는 별도의 조치를 내리지 않았다.
