자유계약선수(FA) 자격을 얻는 류현진(32)이 LA 다저스가 아닌 다른 팀과 계약을 맺을 것이라는 전망이 나왔다.
미국 온라인 스포츠매체 디애슬레틱은 23일 이번 오프시즌 류현진의 다저스 잔류 가능성에 대해 부정적으로 전망했다.
매체는 “류현진의 에이전트 스콧 보라스가 요구하는 것이 많을 것이다. 류현진을 잡기 위해서는 많은 것을 내줘야 할 것”이라고 밝혔다. 보라스가 금액과 계약 기간 모두 양보하지 않을 것이라는 전망이다.

류현진은 이번 시즌 29경기에서 14승5패 평균자책점 2.32를 기록했다. 평균자책점은 메이저리그 전체 1위에 올랐고 류현진은 내셔널리그 사이영상 후보로 언급되고 있다.

2019년 최고의 활약을 펼친 류현진은 오프시즌 선발 투수 보강을 노리는 팀들에게 매력적인 카드가 될 것으로 보인다.
디 애슬레틱은 “류현진은 2018년 많은 경기에 나서지 못했고 다저스에서 퀄리파잉 오퍼를 받아 다저스에 돌아왔다”며 “올해는 퀄리파잉 오퍼가 없을 것이다. 류현진은 2019년 거의 풀 시즌을 뛰었다. FA 자격을 얻는 대부분의 선수들이 그렇게 하듯 류현진은 다저스보다 다른 팀과 계약을 맺을 것”이라고 전했다.
