A construction worker took drastic measures and sewed his own mouth shut with wire in a protest over unpaid wages.

Victor Larshin, 38, filmed himself staging the bizarre stunt in the city of Omsk in south-central Russia.

He hardly flinched as he repeatedly pushed the needle through his lips and pulled the wire through behind it while sitting in front of a mirror.
