There are few celebrities who have cannoned control over their naked image as audaciously as Madonna. 

And it seems the iconic singer has always been body confident as made evident by a series of black-and-white images which show the singer as a 20-year-old during a live modelling shoot for a photography class in 1979 in New York.

Dubbed the 'lost nudes', the photos were taken 13 years before the publication of her Sex book and are proof that Madonna's erotic appeal very definitely pre-dated her pop career.

The shots were captured by acclaimed photographer Martin H.M. Schreiber during the Material Girl's time as an artists' model in the city.

Schreiber met the singer while running a workshop called 'Photographing the Nude' at Parsons New School in the Big Apple - and claims the pair briefly became lovers. 

The images were published in May 2015's edition of Playboy and have now been collected in a new book, Madonna: Nudes II.

But the images don't mark the first time the singer has made headlines this week as she was criticised by fans for using 'a fake police car' to cut through traffic when leaving her concert at the O2 Arena on Thursday night.

The reigning queen of pop left the East London venue in a black car fitted with blue and red lights , following her Rebel Heart tour gigs, which she arrived at hours earlier by motorbike.

According to Nicola Fahey for The Sun, fans claim Madonna was sitting in the back of the car on both nights, which travelled between two other vehicles.

Concert-goers trying to leave the busy arena carparks after the the gig finished at 11pm were allegedly forced to move out of the path of the convoy as it made its way through, with some believing Madonna's vehicle was an unmarked police car. 

The musician put a brave face on the claims on Saturday nevertheless, as she continued her tour with a trip to Amsterdam.
