Information required by the client’s representative to review and approve the project for the next stage, is taken from the Define Stage Activities. The plan for the next stage incorporates: Engineering documents such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&ID), plot plans, heat and material balances, single line electrical diagrams and major equipment specifications Refined Project scope and design definition Resource loaded CPM project plan Class 2 estimate Holistic Risk Assessment: risk identification/elimination to freeze scope Deliverables for this stage include a preliminary Project Execution Plan (PEP), an approved contracting strategy, a change management plan and appropriate resources and funding for the detailed design stage.
