핀란드 언론에 따르면, 최근 ‘트렌디’라는 패션 잡지는 마린 총리의 패션 화보를 게재했다. 그중 한 사진은 한눈에도 마린 총리가 브래지어를 하지 않았다는 것을 알 수 있다. 상반신에 짙은색 재킷과 화려한 목걸이 외에 아무 것도 없다는 것이 분명해 보인다.

However, the politician's outfit choice was branded 'inappropriate' by some social media users after a snap of her wearing the jacket with a deep neckline, and without a blouse underneath, was shared on the magazine's Instagram account. One suggested the outfit 'eroded' her credibility, while another commented: 'Yeah a real role model. It would have been better in the darkest of clouds. Ridiculous that the breasts of a woman appear in two without a blouse. Someone with taste and sense of style.' 마린 총리는 지난해 34세의 나이로 핀란드 총리가 됐다. 취임 당시 세계 최연소 총리였다. 올해 8월에는 고등학생 때부터 16년간 사귄 남자친구 마르쿠스 라이쾨넨과 결혼식을 올렸다. 현직 여성 총리가 재임 중 결혼식을 올렸다는 점에서 화제가 됐다. 라이쾨넨은 핀란드 프로축구 선수로 활동하다 은퇴했다.

핀란드는 여성의 정치 참여도가 세계에서 가장 높은 수준이다. 마린 총리가 이끄는 중도좌파 연립 정부를 구성하는 5개 정당의 당 대표는 전원 여성이다. 국회의원 200명 중 여성 의원이 93명에 달한다. 마린 총리는 취임 직후 19명의 장관 중 12명을 여성으로 임명하는 내각 명단을 발표해 화제를 모았다.
