"가장 큰 홍수 싼샤 덮쳤다"…싼샤댐 붕괴설 다시 '솔솔'

    장강 상류에서 불어난 물이 세계 최대 댐인 싼샤(三峡)댐을 덮쳐 역대급 홍수가 발생했다는 보도가 나오자 싼샤댐 붕괴설이 또다시 제기되고 있다.

18일 중국 관영 신화통신에 따르면 중국 남부 지방에 한 달 넘게 쏟아진 폭우로 장강 상류 유역에 물이 급속히 불어나며 싼샤에 올해들어 가장 큰 홍수가 덮쳤다. 18일 오전8시 기준 초당 6만1000㎥에 달하는 물이 싼샤댐으로 밀려오고 있다.

Floods kill 14 in China as water peaks at Three Gorges Dam BEIJING — At least 14 people have died in the latest round of seasonal rains and flooding in southern China, as soldiers and workers built makeshift barriers with sandbags and rocks Saturday to keep the Yangtze River and its tributaries at bay. Three floodgates of the Three Gorges Dam that spans the Yangtze were opened as the water level behind the massive dam rose more than 50 feet above flood level, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. The dam was holding back about 45% of the water, Xinhua said, citing China Three Gorges Corp. Upstream, 11 people had been killed in Chongqing as of Saturday morning, China National Emergency Broadcasting said in an online report, citing the municipal emergency agency. 싼샤댐 시설 관계자는 "18일 8시 현재 싼샤댐에 초당 6만1000m의 물이 유입되고 있으며, 초당 3만3000㎥의 물을 내보내고 있다"고 말했다.

그러면서 "실시간 모니터링을 하고 있지만 현재까지 댐에 금이 가거나 변형되지는 않았다"며 "안정성에는 문제가 없다"고 앞서 제기된 싼샤댐 붕괴설을 일축했다.

앞서 지난달 22일 중국 소셜네트워크서비스(SNS)에 중국건축과학원 교수로 추정되는 인물이 "마지막으로 한 번 말한다. 이창(宜昌) 아래 지역은 달아나라"며 싼샤댐 붕괴를 경고하기도 했다.

이에 장보팅 중국수리발전공정학회 부비서장은 "굉장히 악의적인 헛소문"이라고 반박했다.

그러나 이날 오전 9시50분 기준 '싼샤 역대급 홍수 발생'이 중국 최대 포털 사이트 바이두 실시간 검색어 2위에 오르며 싼샤댐 붕괴설이 또다시 주목받고 있다.
