삼성전자, 美 군사작전용 ‘갤럭시S20 택티컬 에디션’ 공개

    삼성전자가 미군의 군사 작전용으로 개발한 '갤럭시S20 택티컬 에디션'을 발표했다. 갤럭시S20 제품을 기반으로 미군이 요구하는 사양과 기능을 갖춘 제품으로 일반 소비자에게는 판매되지 않는다.

20일(현지시각) 미국의 IT매체 씨넷(CNET)에 따르면 삼성전자는 극한 상황에서도 작전을 수행할 수 있는 강력한 내구성을 비롯해 이중 보안, 스텔스 모드 등을 탑재한 군용 갤럭시S20 택티컬 에디션을 공개했다.

내구성을 극도로 높인 케이스와 함께 군사용 소프트웨어 기능과 이중 암호화로 구성된 보안 기능을 넣었다. 6.2인치 OLED 디스플레이, 스냅드래곤 865, 12GB 램, 128GB 저장공간, 5G 지원, 후면 트리플 카메라 등의 사양을 갖췄다.

특히 갤럭시S20 택티컬 에디션은 새롭게 추가된 각종 기능을 통해 군사 작전을 지원한다. 야간투시경 장착 시 눈을 보호할 수 있도록 디스플레이를 꺼주는 '나이트 비전 모드', 가로 모드일 때 잠금을 해제해주는 옵션, 완전한 오프그리드 통신을 위해 LTE와 모든 RF 방송을 꺼주는 '스텔스 모드' 등이 추가됐다.

또 전쟁터에서 부상자를 쉽게 찾도록 돕는 기능을 비롯해 전술공격 키트 등 다양한 응용프로그램도 실행 가능하다. 또 모니터와 연결해 PC처럼 쓸 수 있는 '덱스' 기능, 미국 정부의 다양한 보안 표준을 충족하는 녹스(Knox)도 탑재했다. 장갑을 낀 채로 터치 화면을 조작할 수 있도록 자동 터치 감도 조정 기능도 적용됐다.
