Dow's 675-point fall led by losses in shares of IBM, Boeing

 

 

Dragged down by negative returns for shares of IBM and Boeing, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is slumping Tuesday morning. The Dow DJIA, -2.67% was most recently trading 677 points lower (-2.9%), as shares of IBM IBM, -3.03% and Boeing BA, -5.06% have contributed to the index's intraday decline. IBM's shares have dropped $7.49 (6.2%) while those of Boeing are off $7.20 (5.0%), combining for a roughly 101-point drag on the Dow. Intel INTC, -4.76%, Microsoft MSFT, -4.13%, and Cisco CSCO, -4.67% are also contributing significantly to the decline. A $1 move in any one of the 30 components of the benchmark equates to a 6.86-point swing.
