“中은 코로나19 피해 배상하라”…전세계 1만명, 7천조원대 집단소송 제기 영국 싱크탱크 "G7이 중국에 6조3000억달러 배상 청구해야" 독일 빌트지 "감소한 독일 GDP 1490억 유로 등 배상하라"    신종 코로나 바이러스 감염증(코로나 19) 확산사태가 중국을 겨냥한 집단소송 싸움으로 번지고 있다. 호주 공영방송 ABC, 영국 데일리메일 등은 19일(현지시간) 약 1만명이 중국 정부에 코로나 19 피해 배상 약 6조달러(약7323조원)를 청구하는 집단소송을 제기했다고 보도했다 . 해당 소장은 플로리다주 법원에 제출됐다. 미국을 비롯해 세계 각국민이 참여한 이번 소송을 주도하고 있는마이애미 소재 ‘버먼 로 그룹’은 성명을 통해 “이번 소송은 중국이 코로나 19를 막는데 실패함으로써 개인적 상처, 잘못된 죽음, 재산상의 피해 등을 겼은 사람들이 배상금 수십억 달러를 청구하기 위한 것”이라고 설명했다. 그러면서 “플로리다와 (미국의)나머지 지역의 인권과 사업 권리를 위한 싸움”이라고 주장했다. 버먼 로 그룹의 제러미 앨터스는 방송 인터뷰에서 “예방할 수있었던 경제적, 인도적 위기에 우리는 지금 깊이 빠져 있다”며 “이 소송은 (중국이) 바이러스에 대해 알고 있으면서도 막는데 실패했고, 적절하게 알리는데 실패했다는 사실에 근거하고 있다”고 말했다. 이와 별도로 라스베이거스에서도 코로나 19로 인한 사업 상의 피해 배상을 중국에 청구하는 수십억 달러 규모의 집단소송도 제기됐다고 ABC 방송은 전했다. 이달 초 영국의 보수적인 싱크탱크 헨리 잭슨 소사이어티는 주요 7개국이 중국을 상대로 6조3000억 달러 규모의 손해배상을 청구해야 한다고 주장했다. 호주도 580억 달러 규모의 소송을 제기할 수있다고 지적하기도 했다. 그런가하면 독일 타블로이드 신문 빌트는 지난 3월과 4월 독일 관광업계가 코로나19로 입은 손해 240억 유로, 소상공인 피해 500억유로, 그리고 독일 국내총생산이 올해 4.2% 감소한데 대한 1490억 유로 배상 등을 요구하는 청구서를 17일자 신문에 공개하기도 했다. The first comprehensive investigation into the global economic impact of the outbreak concludes that the G7 group of the world's leading economies have been hit by a £3.2 trillion bill that could have been avoided if the Chinese Communist Party had been open and honest about the outbreak late last year. It comes as 15 senior Tories led by former Deputy Prime Minister Damian Green write to Boris Johnson to demand a 'rethink and a reset' in relations with Beijing. 

The first comprehensive investigation into the global economic impact of the outbreak concludes that the G7 group of the world's leading economies have been hit by a £3.2 trillion bill that could have been avoided if the Chinese Communist Party had been open and honest about the outbreak late last year. 

Britain's slice of the compensation sum includes the full cost of Chancellor Rishi Sunak's economic bailout and hike in NHS spending in response to the crisis. The landmark study also directly highlights crunch British policy decisions made earlier this year – such as not cancelling flights from London to Wuhan in January – that were hampered or directly affected by misinformation from China and the acquiescent World Health Organisation.
