미 증시 상승, 유가 급락

미국 증시는 월요일 상승했고 정부 관리들이 코로나바이러스 확산을 억제하기 위한 조치가 장기간 지속될 수 있다는 신호를 보낸 후 석유가격이 급락했다.

 

다우존스는 414포인트 1.9% 오른 22052를 기록했다. S&P 500지수도 2.2% 상승했고 나스닥 종합지수도 2.6% 상승했다.

백악관은 일요일 사회적 이격 지침을 4월 말까지 연장했다. 이번 조치는 경제 피해를 제한하기 위해 부활절까지 일부 규제를 완화할 수 있기를 희망한다는 트럼프 대통령의 입장 변화를 의미한다. 전국의 많은 사업체들은 빠르게 움직이는 바이러스의 확산을 막기 위해 폐쇄되거나 제한된 운영을 하고 있다.

미국의 원유 선물은 검역 대책이 사상 최대 규모의 석유 수요 감소를 이끌고 있다는 분석가들의 전망에 따라 18년여 만에 6% 이상 하락해 최저치를 기록했다.

U.S. stocks rose Monday and oil dropped sharply after government officials signaled that measures to contain the coronavirus pandemic may remain in place for an extended time.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.9%, or 414 points, to 22052. The S&P 500 added 2.2%, and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 2.6%.

The White House on Sunday extended its social-distancing guidelines through the end of April. The move marks a shift in stance for President Trump, who had said that he hoped to ease some restrictions by Easter to limit the economic damage. Many businesses around the country have closed or limited operations to help ease the spread of the fast-moving virus.

U.S. crude-oil futures dropped more than 6% to the lowest level in more than 18 years as analysts forecast that quarantine measures are leading to the biggest decline in oil demand in history.
