이탈리아 간호사, 코로나 감염 후 타인 피해 우려 자살

한 이탈리아 간호사가 코로나바이러스 양성반응을 보여 자신이 다른 사람에게 감염됐을 것을 우려해 스스로 목숨을 끊었다고 한 간호연맹이 밝혔다.

다니엘라 트레지(34)는 이탈리아에서 가장 피해가 심한 지역인 롬바르디의 한 병원에서 코로나바이러스 사태 최전선에서 일하고 있었다.

이탈리아 전국간호사연맹은 어젯밤 성명을 통해 그녀의 사망을 확인하고 '유감하고 실망스럽다'는 입장을 밝혔다.

많은 의료 종사자들이 위기를 수습하기 위해 노력하면서 바이러스를 퍼뜨릴까 봐 심한 스트레스를 받고 있다고 말했다.

The National Federation of Nurses of Italy confirmed her death and expressed its 'pain and dismay' in a statement last night.

The federation said many medical workers were suffering 'heavy stress' because they feared they were spreading the virus while trying to bring the crisis under control.
