사우디 석유시설 테러공포 현실로…국제유가 19% 폭등했다
사우디라아비아 주요 석유 시설과 유전이 예멘 반군의 무인기(드론) 공격을 받아 가동이 중단되면서 원유 거래 시장에서 국제 유가가 19% 이상 뛰었다.
16일(현지시간) 오전 싱가포르 시장에서 브렌트유는 전 거래일보다 배럴당 11.73달러 오른 71.95달러에 거래되고 있다고 블룸버그통신이 전했다.

And moments ago, Brent crude reopened for trading, exploding almost 20% higher, its biggest jump in 28-years time. Bloomberg notes that this attack has resulted in the single-worst disruption in oil markets ever, surpassing the loss of Kuwaiti and Iraqi petroleum supply in August 1990, when Iraq invaded its southern neighbor. It also exceeds the loss of Iranian oil output in 1979 during the Islamic Revolution, according to data from the U.S. Department of Energy." Furthermore, in light of news that the Saudi outage could last for months, this could be just the start. As a reminder, according to Morningstar research director, Sandy Fielden, “Brent could go to $80 tomorrow, while WTI could go to $75... But that would depend on Aramco’s 48-hour update. The supply problem won’t be clear right away since the Saudis can still deliver from inventory." Of course, should Aramco confirm that the outage will last for weeks, expect the Brent onslaught to continue until the price hits $80, and keeps moving higher. 세계 최대 원유 수출국인 사우디의 원유 생산과 수출에 차질이 빚어지면서 국제 원유 시장이 수급 불안으로 크게 출렁이고 있다.
지난 14일 사우디 국영 석유회사 아람코는 동부 아브카이크 원유 처리시설과 쿠라이스 유전이 공격을 받자 원유 생산량을 절반으로 줄였다. 아브카이크 시설은 세계 최대 규모이며, 쿠라이스 유전은 사우디에서 두 번째로 크다.
이번 공격으로 시설이 망가지면서 아람코는 하루 570만 배럴의 원유 생산을 줄였다. 세계 하루 원유 수요인 1억 배럴의 6%에 달하는 물량이라고 워싱턴포스트(WP)가 보도했다.
원유 애널리스트인 파벨 몰차노브는 WP 인터뷰에서 "이 정도 물량의 수급 차질은 심상치 않은 상황이다. 단일 사건으로 이 정도 수급이 어긋난 경우는 수십년간 없었다"고 말했다.
WP는 "원유 생산량이 정상 수준으로 돌아오기까지 몇 주가 걸릴 수 있다”고 전했다.
친이란 성향의 예멘 반군은 자신들이 석유 시설과 유전을 공격했다고 주장했으나 미국은 이란을 배후로 지목하고 있다.

도널드 트럼프 행정부는 15일(현지시간) 세계 에너지 공급 안정을 위해 전략 비축유(SPR)를 활용하겠다고 밝혔다.
트럼프 대통령은 이날 오후 트위터에 올린 글에서 "유가에 영향을 줄 수 있는 사우디아라비아에 대한 공격을 근거로 전략 비축유로부터 석유 방출을 승인했다"고 밝혔다.
구체적인 물량은 언급하지 않은 채 필요한 경우 시장에 잘 공급할 수 있을 만큼 충분한 양으로 결정될 것이라고 덧붙였다. 현재 미국 전략 비축유 규모는 약 6억4500만 배럴이며, 이는 미국 기업과 개인이 약 한 달간 소비하는 석유량이다.
트럼프 대통령은 미국 내 원유 생산에도 속도를 내겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다. 트럼프는 "텍사스와 다른 여러 주에서 현재 허가 과정에 있는 송유관 승인을 신속히 처리할 것을 모든 관련 기관에 통보했다"고 말했다.
