현대건설, 3조2천억 원 규모 사우디 마르잔 가스플랜트 패키지6·12 동시 수주
"추가 공사 기대"
사우디 아람코, 마잔 베리 유전 플랜트 180억 달러 34건 계약 체결
현대건설이 사우디 아라비아에서 3조원이 넘는 초대형 플랜트 공사를 수주했다.
현대건설은 지난 9일(현지시간) 사우디의 국영 석유회사 아람코가 발주한 사우디 마르잔(Marjan) 개발 프로그램 '패키지 6'과 '패키지 12' 공사를 총 27억달러(한화 약 3조2천억원)에 수주하고 사우디 현지에서 계약을 체결했다고 10일 밝혔다.

The company plans to boost the Marjan and Berri fields’ production capacity by 550,000 b/d of Arabian crude oil and 2.5 bscf/d of gas. Aramco contracted 16 engineering, supply, and construction companies. Saudi companies make up half of the awarded contracts. Contractors working on these projects are required to maximize the procurement of material and equipment from local suppliers and manufacturers to help achieve Saudi Aramco’s In-Kingdom Total Value Add Program goals. These aim to increase the company’s locally-sourced goods and services to 70% by 2021. The Marjan increment program includes a new offshore gas oil separation plant, and 24 offshore oil, gas, and water injection platforms. The company also plans to expand its Tanajib onshore oil facilities and construct a new gas plant, to include gas treatment and processing, NGL recovery and fractionation, and gas compression facilities. It will also add a cogeneration facility, water desalination facility, and new transfer pipelines. The project aims to increase production from the Marjan field by 300,000 b/d of Arabian medium crude oil, process 2.5 bscf/d of gas, and produce an additional 360,000 b/d of C2+NGL. Through the Berri increment program, the company plans to add 250,000 b/d of Arabian light crude. The planned facilities include a new gas oil separation plant in Abu Ali Island to process 500,000 b/d of Arabian light crude oil, and additional gas processing facilities at the Khursaniyah gas plant to process 40,000 bbl of associated hydrocarbon condensate. It also includes a new water injection facility, two drilling islands, 11 oil and water offshore platforms, and nine onshore oil production and water supply drill sites. 이날 계약식에는 사우디 아람코의 아민 나세르 최고경영자(CEO)와 아흐마드 알사디 수석 부사장, 파하드 알헬랄 부사장 등 발주처 주요 관계자들과 현대건설 플랜트사업본부장인 이원우 부사장 등이 참석했다.
현대건설이 수주한 공사는 사우디 동부 담맘에서 북서쪽으로 약 250km 떨어진 마잔(Marjan) 지역의 해상 유전에서 생산되는 가스와 원유를 처리하는 가스플랜트를 짓는 것이다.
패키지 6은 원유와 가스를 분리 처리하는 기존 공장에 하루 30만 배럴의 원유와 가스를 추가로 분리 처리할 수 있는 시설을 확장하는 것이다.
총 공사금액은 약 14억8천만달러(약 1조7천189억원)에 달한다.
패키지 12는 육상의 가스 처리 플랜트에 전력과 용수 등 공장 운영에 필요한 유틸리티를 공급하는 간접시설 설치 공사다.
수주금액은 12억5천만달러(약 1조4천570억원)다.
두 패키지 모두 공사 기간은 착공 후 41개월이 소요될 예정이다.
현대건설은 이번 수주 과정에서 여러 글로벌 경쟁사들과 치열한 경합을 벌였으며, 발주처로부터 우수한 기술력과 사업수행 능력을 인정받아 최종 낙찰자로 선정됐다고 설명했다.
현대건설은 앞서 사우디에서 아람코가 발주한 7억달러 규모의 쿠라이스 가스 처리시설 공사와 14억달러 규모의 카란 가스 처리시설 공사를 수주해 각각 2009년과 2012년에 성공적으로 완공했다.

현재는 아람코가 발주한 우쓰마니아 에탄 회수처리시설 공사를 진행중이며 올해 11월 준공 예정이다.
현대건설 관계자는 "우쓰마니아 에탄 회수처리시설 공사 등에서 보여준 기술력과 시공능력을 바탕으로 발주처의 신뢰를 얻은 것이 이번 양질의 공사 수주로 이어졌다"며 "앞으로 사우디뿐만 아니라 중동지역에 추가 발주될 공사 수주에도 유리한 위치를 선점할 것으로 기대한다"고 말했다.
현대건설은 앞서 지난 5월 이라크에서 2조9천억원 규모의 초대형 해수공급시설 공사를 따낸 데 이어 하반기에도 알제리 등에서 추가 수주 행진을 이어갈 것으로 보인다.
