여행객이 꼽은 '美최고 관광체험', 시카고 건축 크루즈 트립어드바이저 "바티칸 박물관 투어에 이어 세계 2위" '건축의 메카' 미국 시카고를 크루즈로 둘러보는 '건축 투어'가 '미국 최고의 관광 체험'으로 손꼽혔다. 세계 최대 여행 정보 사이트 '트립어드바이저'(TripAdvisor)가 최근 공개한 '2019 추천 관광 체험'(Experiences for 2019) 순위에서 '시카고 건축 크루즈'(Chicago Architecture River Cruise)가 미국내 1위, 전세계적으로는 바티칸 시티 박물관 투어에 이어 2위를 차지했다. 트립어드바이저 측은 사이트 이용자들의 리뷰와 평점 등을 합산해 순위를 매겼다고 밝혔다. 시카고 건축 크루즈는 도심을 흐르는 강을 따라 운행하는 배 갑판에 앉아 유명 건축물들을 둘러보고, 시카고 역사를 듣는 관광 코스다. 관광객들은 1973년부터 1998년까지 '세계 최고층' 타이틀을 유지한 윌리스 타워(구 시어스 타워·442m·108층)에서부터 1924년 완공된 프랑스 르네상스 양식의 리글리 빌딩, 1925년 완공된 신고딕 양식의 트리뷴 타워, 시카고 최대 번화가 미시간 애비뉴와 시카고 강 교차점에 서있는 현대 양식의 초고층 트럼프 타워(98층·423m)까지 다양한 건축물과 그 이면의 이야기들을 들을 수 있다. 트립어드바이저는 시카고 건축 크루즈에 대해 "시카고의 웅장한 아름다움을 엿볼 수 있는 가장 좋은 방법"이라고 소개했다. 한편 바티칸 박물관 투어와 시카고 건축 크루즈에 이은 세계 3위는 이탈리아 토스카나 풍경 관광, 4위는 아이슬란드 실프라 계곡 스노클링, 5위는 라스베이거스 레드락 캐니언 전기 자전거 투어가 차지했다. 이어 6위는 프랑스 파리에서 빈티지 모터사이클 사이드카를 타고 즐기는 이색 시티 투어, 7위 네덜란드 암스테르담 운하 투어, 8위 인도네시아 발리의 우붓 정글 그네 타기, 9위 중국 산시성 시안 푸드 투어, 10위 뉴질랜드 카이투나강 화이트워터 래프팅 순이다.
