설상가상으로, 자선 단체인 Electrical Safety First의 새로운 조사는 수백 명의 e-bike와 e-scooter 소유자들이 호환되지 않는 충전기를 사용함으로써 부주의하게 그러한 화재를 일으킬 위험이 있다는 것을 발견했다.
.설문에 응한 사람들의 거의 절반(43%)이 자전거나 스쿠터가 판매될 때 공급되지 않는 충전기를 사용했다고 답하여 그러한 장치가 배터리의 전압과 호환되지 않을 수 있다는 우려를 불러일으켰다.
그렇게 했다고 인정한 430명 중 3명 중 1명은 사용 중인 충전기가 e-스쿠터의 배터리와 호환되지 않는다는 사실을 알고 있었고, 5명 중 1명은 알지 못했다.
