WTI 20달러 붕괴…국제유가, 18년만 최저수준
국제유가가 15일(현지시간) 주요 산유국의 원유 감산 합의에도 하락세를 지속, 18년 만의 최저 수준으로 떨어졌다.
이날 뉴욕상업거래소(NYMEX)에서 5월 인도분 서부 텍사스산 원유(WTI)는 전날보다 배럴당 1.2%(0.24달러) 하락한 19.87달러로 장을 마감했다.

20달러 선을 내준 것은 물론 2002년 2월 이후 약 18년 만의 최저 수준이다.
런던 ICE 선물거래소의 6월물 브렌트유도 오후 2시51분 현재 배럴당 6.01%(1.78달러) 급락한 27.82달러에 거래되고 있다.

OPEC+(OPEC과 10개 주요 산유국의 연대체)는 5월 1일부터 6월 말까지 두 달 간 하루 970만 배럴의 원유를 감산하기로 지난 12일 합의했지만, 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 사태에 따른 수요 감소 우려를 불식하지 못하고 있다.
국제에너지기구(IEA)는 4월 하루 원유 수요가 2천900만 배럴 줄어들 것이라고 전망하고 이는 지난 25년 동안 보지 못했던 수준이라고 밝혔다. 또 원유 감산 합의가 이 같은 수요 감소를 상쇄하지 못할 것으로 평가했다.
미국의 원유 재고 증가도 유가 하락을 부채질했다. 미 에너지정보청(EIA)은 지난주 원유 재고가 1천920만 배럴 증가했다고 밝혔다. 전문가 전망치(1천202만 배럴 증가)를 웃도는 수준이다.
국제 금값은 5거래일 만에 하락했다.
뉴욕상품거래소에서 6월 인도분 금은 전날보다 온스당 1.6%(28.70달러) 떨어진 1,740.20달러를 기록했다.
