Hasselblad is allowing photographers to enjoy the quality of its medium format cameras in increasingly small sizes thanks to a new design. When paired with the soon-to-be-released CFV II 50C digital back, the Hasselblad 907X medium format camera body will provide unparalleled photography quality in a small package. In fact, the 907X is Hasselblad’s smallest medium format camera body ever.

The CFV II 50C has a medium format 50-megapixel CMOS sensor (43.8 x 32.9 mm) and can pair with most V system cameras made since 1957. The sleek, retro design features a tiltable rear screen that will allow photographers to pursue the classic waist-level shooting style. A fully-integrated battery has helped make the overall design even more compact and can be charged in-camera via the USB-C port.

The 907X is compatible with all X system lenses and by using adaptors, the range can be expanded to Hasselblad’s H System, V System, and XPan Lenses. The firm has also announced that there will be compatibility with third-party adaptors and lenses, making for a truly versatile system.

Hasselblad also anticipates a rollout of accessories, including a control grip and external optical viewfinder to enhance the photography experience. While there’s no word yet on pricing or an exact release date, Hasselblad has said that it will make an announcement later in 2019.

When paired together, the Hasselblad CFV II 50C and 907X medium format camera body make for a highly portable, professional camera.
