세계 최초 자가 충전 전기자전거 'DX' 현재 인디고고에서 펀딩 중 8월 배송 예정 최소 펀딩 금액은 $777 전기 파워트레인의 단점은 긴 충전 시간과 그에 비해 짧은 주행거리다. 물론 조금씩 좋아지고는 있지만, 아직 화석연료 자동차에 비해 많이 부족한 것이 사실. 이런 상황에서 고속충전기와 효율 개선을 통해 주행거리가 개선된 제품들은 꾸준히 등장하고 있다. 최근 자체 충전시스템이 탑재된 자전거가 등장했다. 접이식 산악자전거 스타일의 이 DX 전기 자전거는 6061 알루미늄 프레임을 사용한다. 무려 5년의 연구개발 끝에 셀프 차징 모터 허브를 제작했으며 내리막길을 주행하거나 페달을 밟는 것만으로 충전이 된다고. 물론 설명에는 없지만 주행 저항이 상당할것 같기는 하다. 시마노 7단 구동계가 탑재되며 250W 혹은 500W 출력의 모델을 선택할 수 있고 최고속도는 각각 25/35km/h다. 기본 모델은 한번 충전으로 최대 45km의 거리를 주행할 수 있으며 그 외 모델은 최대 65km까지다. 온보드 USB 충전기가 탑재되며 PAS를 기본으로 스로틀을 추가할 수 있다. 다양한 커스텀 컬러와 이니셜을 새길 수도 있으며 도난 방지 기능도 들어 있다. 현재 인디고고에서 펀딩 중으로 8월 배송 예정이며 물건을 받기 위한 최소 펀딩 금액은 $777이다.
