대림산업과 SK건설은 터키 차나칼레대교의 주탑을 지지하는 기초인 케이슨(Caisson)을 다르다넬스 해협에 성공적으로 설치하였다고 밝혔습니다. 지난 5월 중순 첫 번째 케이슨을 성공적으로 설치한 데 이어 두 번째 케이슨까지 모두 설치 완료하습니다.

Daelim Industrial sets up foundation of tower for Turkey's Canakkale Bridge Daelim Industrial has successfully set up Caisson, a foundation supporting the tower of Turkey's Canakkale Bridge with SK Engineering & Construction. It installed the first Caisson in mid-May and the second Caisson this time to complete all of it. According to the company on May 28, the Caisson of the Canakkale Bridge is in the form of two cylindrical steel materials mounted on a hollow square grid-shaped concrete structure. A total of two were manufactured on land near the site for about 15 months from February last year. Up to 1,300 workers and more than 9,000 Remicon trucks were used daily. Each weighs 60,000 tons. The height is 47 meters, and only concrete structures are equal to the Grand Theater of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts. Caisson serves to fix the 318-meter-high tower to the seabed. The key of this project is to place Caisson on the seabed, which is located in a precise location by design. To this end, four tugboats carried out high-level work, taking into account the movement of sea water for about 72 hours after moving Caisson to sea. The Daelim Industrial-SK Construction consortium introduced a ballast system used to balance ships in order to pour water in the empty space inside Caisson and submerge it. 차나칼레대교의 케이슨은 속이 빈 사각형 격자 모양의 콘크리트 구조물 위에 두 개의 원통형 철강재가 올라간 형태로서 케이슨은 주탑을 해저에 단단히 고정시키는 역할을 한다.
현장 인근에 있는 육상에서 지난해 2월부터 약 15개월 동안 총 2개가 제작되었습니다. 하루 최대 1,300여명의 인력과 레미콘 트럭 9,000대 이상 분량의 콘크리트가 투입되었으며 개당 무게가 6만 여 톤에 이릅니다. 높이가 47m로 콘크리트 구조물만 세종문화회관 대극장에 맞먹는 크기입니다. 앞으로 각각의 케이슨 위로 철강재 주탑이 쌓아 올려지게 됩니다.
이번 작업의 핵심은 설계상 정확한 위치의 해저면에 케이슨을 안착시키는 것이었습니다. 이를 위해서 4개의 예인선이 케이슨을 끌고 해상으로 이동 후 약 72시간에 걸쳐 해수의 움직임 등을 고려하여 고난도 공사를 수행했습니다. 대림산업-SK건설 컨소시엄은 케이슨 내부 빈공간에 물을 채워 침하시키기 위해서 선박의 균형과 평형을 맞추는데 사용되는 밸러스트 장치를 도입하였습니다. GPS 및 경사계를 이용하여 실시간으로 정확한 위치 측정을 진행하였으며 이를 통해 설계상 시공오차 기준인 ±200mm 범위를 뛰어넘어 ±20mm 범위내의 획기적인 정밀도로 성공적으로 시공하였습니다.
