Winners of the 2021 eVolo Skyscraper Competition envision the future of vertical architecture

 

The proposal 'Living Skyscraper For New York City​' by Andrii Lesiuk, Mykhaylo Kohut, Sofiia Shkoliar, Kateryna Ivashchuk, Nazarii Duda, Mariia Shkolnyk, Oksana-Daryna Kytsiuk, and Andrii Honcharenko from Ukraine is the top winner of the 2021 eVolo Skyscraper Competition.

 

It's that time of the year again: the Skyscraper Competition just revealed the winning design submissions from around the world. Hosted annually by eVolo Magazine, the contest calls for innovative tall-building concepts that challenge the way we understand vertical architecture.

 

From a pool of 492 entries this year, three winners and twenty honorable mentions were selected by the jury. The winning design teams from Ukraine, Israel, and China proposed genetically modified trees shaped into living skyscrapers, a rainwater-catching high-rise for Mexico City, and traditional wooden Hmong houses organized inside an adaptable stilt frame.

 

 

First Place: Living Skyscraper For New York City

Second Place: Lluvioso Skyscraper Collects Rainwater And Replenishes Groundwater In Mexico City

Third Place: Hmong Skyscraper Is A Stack Of Traditional Houses Unified By Vertical Public Space

2021년 eVolo 초고층 빌딩 경연대회의 수상자들이 수직 건축의 미래를 상상한다.

 

1위 수상작:  '뉴욕시를 위한 살아 있는 초고층 건물'

디자인팀 : 안드리 레시우크, 미하일로 코후트, 소피아 슈콜리아르, 카테리나 이바슈크, 나자리 두다, 마리야 슈콜닉, 옥사나다리나 큐츠크, 혼리 등이 제안(우크라이나)

 

2위 수상작: Lluvioso 고층건물이 빗물을 모아 멕시코시티 지하수를 보충하다.

디자인팀 : 아미트 도이치, 로니 도미니츠, 타마르 케르베르 (이스라엘)

 

3위 수상작: 흐몽 고층건물은 수직공간에 의해 통합된 전통주택의 집합체

디자인팀 : 샹슈콩, 장샤오융, 민송선 (중국)

 

지금이 일년 중 가장 중요한 시기다: 마천루 경연대회 주최측이 방금 전 세계로부터 제출된 디자인 출품작들을 공개했다. eVolo Magazine에서 매년 주최하는 이 콘테스트는 수직 아키텍처를 이해하는 방식에 도전하는 혁신적인 고층 빌딩 개념을 요구하고 있다.

 

 

올해 492명의 참가자 중에서, 3명의 수상자와 20명이 심사위원들에 의해 선정되었다. 우크라이나, 이스라엘, 중국의 디자인 팀은 살아있는 고층 건물로 만든 유전자 변형 나무, 멕시코 시티의 빗물이 고인 고층 건물, 적응력이 뛰어난 기단 틀 안에 조직된 전통적인 나무 흐몽 집을 제안했다.
