The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) has announced that the Unit 1 of Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant gas started commercial operations.

에미레이트 원자력 공사(ENEC)는 바라카 원자력 발전소 1호기가 상업적인 운영을 시작했다고 발표했다.
깨끗한 전기의 새로운 시대는 앞으로 수십 년 동안 UAE와 지역의 지속적인 발전과 성장에 원동력이 될 것이다.
아랍에미리트(UAE) 정부 기관은 지역 최대 지주회사 중 하나인 ADQ의 일부인 아랍에미리트원자력공사(ENEC)의 UAE 프로그램 전달을 위임받아 운영·유지 자회사인 나와에너지회사(나와)가 바라카공장 1호기의 상업운전에 성공했음을 확인했다.
이제 모든 시험 활동을 중단할 것이다.
1400 MW 1호기는 현재 상시 안정적이고 지속 가능한 전기를 공급하고 있으며, 향후 몇 년 내에 추가로 2호기~4호기 3개의 원전이 상업 생산 시작할 예정이다.
ENEC는 현재 UAE 내 모든 산업 중 가장 큰 규모의 탈탄소화 노력을 주도하고 있다.
바라카 원전의 상업적 운영의 시작은 독립 국가 규제 기관인 FANR(Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation)에 의해 감독되는 광범위한 시험 기간을 거쳤고. FANR은 바라카 개발 초기부터 312건의 독립 검사를 수행했다.

The UAE government entity mandated to deliver the UAE program, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), part of ADQ, one of region’s largest holding companies, confirmed that its operating and maintenance subsidiary, Nawah Energy Company (Nawah) successfully started commercial operations of the first Unit of Barakah Plant, following the completion of all testing activities.
The 1400 MW Unit 1 is now providing constant, reliable, and sustainable electricity around the clock, with three further units to begin generating in the coming years. As a result, ENEC is now leading the largest decarbonization effort of any industry in the UAE to date.
The start of commercial operations follows a period of extensive testing, overseen by the independent national regulator – the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR). FANR conducted 312 independent inspections since the start of Barakah’s development.
