SINGAPORE - Spanning some three hectares - the area of four football fields - South-east Asia's first large-scale underground substation is being constructed in Labrador, optimising space in land-scarce Singapore.
The land above the underground substation, which will also be Singapore's largest, will be used for a 34-storey commercial development, power company SP Group announced on Tuesday (April 6).
Both the electrical substation and the commercial building at the site of the former Pasir Panjang Power District are due for completion in 2024.
축구장 4개 면적의 약 3헥타르에 이르는 동남아 최초의 대규모 지하 변전소가 싱가포르 래브라도에 건설되고 있다.
지하변전소 위 토지는 34층 규모의 오피스 빌딩 건설에 사용될 예정이라고 전력회사 SP그룹이 20일(현지시간) 밝혔다.
옛 파시르판장발전지구 부지에 있는 전기변전소와 상가건물 모두 2024년 준공 예정이다.
SP그룹은 230kV 변전소 건설 본계약을 현대건설과 체결했다 .
스탠리 황 그룹 회장은 "이번 프로젝트는 싱가포르의 도시재생 계획과 SP그룹이 모든 사람에게 안정적이고 지속 가능한 에너지를 공급하고 지속 가능한 인프라를 구축한다는 자체 목표에 부합한다"고 말했다.
래브라도 변전소는 인근 알렉산드라, 클레멘티, 케펠, 파시르 판장, 사이언스 파크 지역의 전력 수요를 소화할 예정이다.
