스위스 애니보틱스-맥슨, ‘스팟’ 대항마될 4족 자율 로봇 선봬
산업시스템 점검·모니터링용···대량생산 보급 앞둬
스위스 로봇스타트업인 애니보틱스와 맥슨이 제휴해 자율형 4족 보행 로봇을 새로 선보였다.
‘ee뉴스’는 15일(현지시각) 스위스 구동 기술 전문업체 맥슨(Maxon)과 로봇 스타트업인 애니보틱스(ANYbotics)가 손잡고 새로운 자율형 4족보행 동물로봇 출시를 준비 중이라고 보도했다.

maxon and ANYbotics Enter into a Strategic Partnership
Drive specialist maxon, renowned for its Mars motors, is joining forces with the robotics startup ANYbotics and will in future supply the drive systems of the autonomous ANYmal inspection robot. The robot will soon be marketed in large quantities. This cooperation will also benefit maxon, since ANYbotics provides important robotics know-how and is currently the most successful young company in this field.
A solid partnership: maxon and ANYbotics are entering into a close, long-term collaboration and are thus strengthening Switzerland as a prime location for robotics. One of the decisions made by the two partners is that maxon, as global drive specialist, will handle the future development and production of the actuators for ANYmal. ANYmal is an autonomous, four-legged robot that is capable of inspecting and monitoring industrial systems and is destined to also take on dangerous maintenance tasks in the future. The robot can even cope with difficult infrastructures such as stairs and inclines, and is used in a wide variety of industries. The maxon Group contributes 60 years of experience in drive technology to the partnership, as well as a global production infrastructure and validated processes, and will help to advance the industrialization and commercialization of ANYmal – with competitive, high-performance drive systems, twelve of which are used in each robot. “In maxon, we have found the ideal partner for taking care of our drive technology as we transition from small series to mass production. With maxon’s expertise and infrastructure, we will be able to further optimize a core element of our robots and access state-of-the-art production methods,” says Péter Fankhauser, CEO of ANYbotics. 맥슨은 곧 각종 인프라 검사 및 모니터링용으로 대량 출시될 자율형 동물로봇 애니멀(ANYmal)에 구동 시스템을 공급할 예정이다.
이 제휴에 따라 맥슨은 애니보틱스 본사 근처 취리히 캠퍼스에 새로운 연구소를 설립하며, 향후 애니멀용 액추에이터 개발과 생산도 담당한다.
애니멀은 산업 시스템을 점검하고 모니터링할 수 있는 자율형 4족 로봇으로서 향후 위험한 정비 작업에 투입될 예정이다. 12개의 모터드라이브가 달린 이 로봇은 계단이나 경사로 같은 험난한 구조물 환경에 잘 대응할 수 있도록 설계됐으며 다양한 산업에서 사용되고 있다.
두 회사의 파트너십은 스위스를 로봇공학에 가장 적합한 장소로 강화하기 위한 긴밀하고 장기적인 협력 관계로 여겨진다.

맥슨은 새로 설립하는 연구소가 취리히연방공대(ETH 취리히)와 취리히 대학에 더 가까워져 젊은 엔지니어들에게 기술 지원을 제공하고, 작업 공간을 제공하며, 채용의 장이 되길 원한다.
엘미거 맥슨 CEO는 “우리는 이미 취리히와 루체른 주위에서 직업교육에 긴밀히 관여하고 있다. 이 새로운 연구소가 생기면서 드라이브 기술과 로봇공학 분야 인재들을 지원할 수 있는 더 나은 위치에 서게 될 것”이라고 말했다.
페터 판크하우저 애니보틱스 CEO는 “우리는 소형 로봇 시리즈 생산을 대량 생산으로 전환하면서 드라이브 기술을 지원해 줄 이상적 파트너를 맥슨에서 찾았다. 맥슨의 전문성과 인프라 덕분에 로봇의 핵심 요소를 더욱 최적화하고 최첨단 생산 방식에 접근할 수 있게 됐다”고 말했다. 애니보틱스는 최근 스위스 이코노믹어워드2020을 수상했으며 하이테크/바이오텍 부문에서 스위스 최고의 젊은 기업가로 선정됐다.
