이집트, 해수담수화 플랜트 47기 건설 추진
향후 5년간 28억 달러 투입
이집트 정부가 향후 5년간 451억8000만 이집트 파운드, 약 28억 달러 규모를 투입해 해수담수화 플랜트 47기를 건설할 계획이라고 현지 언론이 지난 11일 보도했다. 이 프로젝트는 오는 2025년까지 하루 2억4400만m³의 담수 생산을 목표로 한다.

이 사업은 4단계로 나눠 추진된다. 1단계는 하루 총 생산능력이 31만2000m³ 규모의 해수담수화 플랜트 19기를 건설하는 사업이다. 투자 규모는 4억3000만 달러로 추정된다. 2단계 사업은 하루 총 33만5000m³ 규모를 생산할 수 있는 해수담수화 플랜트 7기를 건설하며, 4억1300만 달러가 투입된다.
3단계는 일일 총 1억2900만m³ 규모인 해수담수 플랜트 19기(18.5억불), 마지막 4단계는 하루에 총 10만m³ 규모의 해수담수화 플랜트 2기가 각각 건설하는 사업이다.
이번 사업은 이집트 현지 신도시 개발(NUCA)·수자원(NCWW) 등 관련 부처가 공동으로 추진한다.
한편 이집트 정부는 오는 2037년까지 약 557억 달러, 약 9000억 이집트 파운드를 투입하는 수자원 전략을 작년 12월에 발표한 바 있다.

보건당국 방역상태 고려 최종 결정키로
과테말라 정부가 코로나19로 침체된 경제를 살리기 위해 건설 프로젝트를 추진한다고 지난 9일(현지시각) 밝혔다. 코로나19 확산을 막기 위해 민간분야 건설사업을 일제히 중단했지만, 침체된 경기를 빠르게 부양하기 위한 방안이 건설 프로젝트라는 판단이다.

건설프로젝트 재개 시점은 명확하게 결정되지 않았다. 현지 정부는 보건당국의 방역 상태를 고려해 최종 결정하겠다는 조심스러운 입장을 표명했다.
향후 건설프로젝트 재개시 4단계 색상경보 시스템을 사용해 건설사업 재개를 추진할 계획이다.
현지 정부가 추진할 건설프로젝트는 병원 인프라 확충이다. 추진 규모는 14개소로, 연내 7개 병원 건설에 착수한다. 이후 2021년에 7곳을 추가 건설하고, 각 지방 정부에서 14개 보건소 확충에도 나선다.
한편 과테말라 정부는 내년도 공공투자 예산도 확대해 경제부양에 나선다는 계획이다. 먼저 22개 보건인프라사업에 1300만 달러, 고속도로 건설에 10억 달러, 학교 시설 건설에 4300만 달러를 투입한다.
