The company shipped three equipment weighing 1,850.7 t used in the process of filtering seawater to Bapco MED in Bahrain

Doosan Heavy Industries Vietnam, a Quang Ngai-based manufacturer of boilers for power plants and desalination plants has supplied a total of 4,125.9 tonnes (t) of equipment to Bahrain’s Bapco MED and Ruwais Refinery in Abu Dhabi, amid the current situations surrounding the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

두산중공업 베트남, 코로나에도  바레인 UAE 플랜트 현장에 성공적 장비 공급    베트남 꽝응아이(Quang Ngai)소재 발전소 및 담수화 플랜트용 보일러 제조업체인 두산중공업 베트남은 세계적 대유행 코로나바이러스(COVID-19) 상황 속에서도 바레인 바포코 MED와 아부다비 루와이스 정유공장에 총 4125.9톤(t)의 장비를 공급했다. 두산비나에 따르면 1차 선적분은 지난 3월 21일 아부다비 루와이스 정유공장으로 2275.2t급 15개 모듈로 구성됐으며, 2차 선적분에는 바레인의 Bapco MED로 바닷물을 여과하는 과정에서 사용되는 해수담수화 1850.7t급 장비 3개가 포함됐다. Bapco MED에 공급되는 장비에는 증발기, 최종 효과 히터 및 해수 히터가 포함된다. 이는 두산비나와 삼성물산이 맺은 공급계약 내용이다. 이 장비는 영국 밥코 정제소에서 바닷물을 증류수로 만들 것이다. 두산비나 팀들은 자력 모듈 트랜스포터의 지원을 받아 장비 적재 작업을 열흘 만에 마쳤다. 이 과정에 대해 두산비나의 감독 대행인 도 꾸억 브엉(Do Quoc Vuong)은 다음과 같이 말했다. According to Doosan Vina, the first shipment consisted of 15 modules weighing 2,275.2 t to the Ruwais Refinery in Abu Dhabi on 21 March, while the second order comprised three equipment weighing 1,850.7 t, which is used in the process of filtering seawater to Bapco MED in Bahrain.

The equipment supplied to Bapco MED includes an evaporator, final-effect heater, and seawater heater. The supply agreement was inked between Doosan Vina and Samsung Engineering Construction Ltd.

The equipment will heat and turn seawater into distilled water at the Bapco Refinery in the Kingdom.

Teams at Doosan Vina completed the loading process for the equipment in 10 days with the assistance of self-propelled modular transporters.

Speaking about the process, acting director of Doosan Vina’s water shop, Do Quoc Vuong said:

“Due to the quite heavy workload, apart from our 150 employees, we had to hire 50 workers from three subcontractors including OGS, INSU, and Thaco to ensure the project's production schedule.”
