스웨덴, 260억불 규모 고속철 건설사업 본격 추진

2022년 2월 44억 투입 1단계 사업 착공 목표

현지 도로청, 미국 제이콥스사 용역사 선정

    스웨덴 정부가 260억 달러 규모의 고속철도 사업을 본격 추진한다.

스웨덴 도로청은 최근 미국 엔지니어링사인 제이콥스(Jacobs사)를 고속철도 건설사업 용역사로 선정하고 계약을 체결했다. 이 사업은 스웨덴 스톡홀름, 예테보리, 말뫼시를 연결하는 것으로 총 사업비는 260억 달러로 추정된다. 제이콥스사는 기술, 계획, 설계, 운송 자문 역할을 맡았다.

도로청은 오는 2022년 2월 착공을 목표로 사업을 진행할 방침이다.

Jacobs Wins Major High-Speed Rail Contract in Sweden DALLAS: Jacobs (NYSE:J) was awarded a framework contract by the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), to provide strategic consultancy services for the new high-speed railway lines planned between Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo in Sweden. 현재 스웨덴에는 시속 200km 안팎의 철도 인프라를 보유하고 있다. 이번 사업은 운행시속을 250km로, 최대시속은 300km으로 상향하는 것이 목적이다. 특히 신규 철도노선과 기존 노선의 고속화로 구분, 전체 사업비 260억불 규모로 알려졌다.

기존 노선 중 고속철도화 대표적 사업은 스톡홀름~말뫼(Malmö) 철도다. 이 노선은 현재 시속 180km로 운행 중으로, 신호체계 개선 등을 통해 향후 시속 250km급으로 높아진다.

신규노선은 △1단계 예르나~린쉐핑(Järna~Linköping, 150km) △2단계 예테보리~보로스(Gothenburg~Borås, 60km) △3단계 헤슬레홀름~룬드(Hässleholm~Lund, 70km)로 나뉜다.

1단계는 2022년 2월에 착공될 예정이며, 총 사업비는 44억 달러 규모다. 2단계는 오는 2025년 1월 착공을 목표로 34억 달러가 투자된다. 마지막 ３단계 구간은 2027년 1월 착공에 들어가며 총 사업비 40억 달러가 투입될 예정이다.

제이콥스 도날드 모리손(Donald Morrison) 상무는 “스웨덴의 고속철도 비전은 보다 쾌적하고, 빠른 수송능력과 지역간 연결성을 높이는 것과 함께 경제발전을 촉진할 수 있는 계기”라고 말했다.

도로청 관계자는 “신규 철도인프라는 스웨덴 철도망의 과밀 부문을 해소할 것으로 기대한다”며 “적합한 솔루션을 찾기 위해 제이콥스사와 협업할 것”이라고 말했다.

한편 제이콥스는 지난 2018년 아랍에미리트(UAE) 철도망(900km) 구축 사업에서도 기술과 프로그램 컨설턴트로 참여한 바 있다.
