미국 뉴욕 본햄스경매에서 90만5천 달러(9억 5천만원)에 낙찰된 애플I은 1976년 스티브 잡스와 스티브 워즈니악이 제작한 애플사 최초의 컴퓨터로 현재 전세계적으로 50여 대가 남아 있다. 그 중 6대만 정상적으로 구동 가능한 것으로 알려져 있고 한국의 엔엑스씨(NXC)가 구동 가능한 애플I을 지난 2012년 6월 뉴욕 소더비 경매에서 37만4500달러(약 3억9500만원)에 낙찰 받은 바 있다. 김정주 엔엑스씨 대표는 지난 2013년 11월에 열린 국내 최대 게임전시회 '지스타 2013'에서 애플사 최초의 컴퓨터 애플I 구동 영상을 공개했었다.

Record $905,000 at Auction

Wednesday October 22, 2014 1:22 pm PDT by Juli CloverA rare working Apple 1 computer has sold for a record $905,000 at a Bonhams auction in New York, reports Reuters. Estimates suggested the motherboard might fetch between $300,000 and $500,000, but it ended up selling for far more.
Few Apple 1 computers survive today, and the one sold at the New York auction has fetched the highest price seen yet. The buyer of the computer remains unknown. Each Apple 1 originally sold for $666.66, and approximately 200 total units were produced.
Last year, two working Apple 1 computers complete with their original cardboard box were sold by German auction house Breker. One of the machines sold for $330,000, while a second fully functional Apple 1 computer sold for $671,400 as it included a letter from Steve Jobs intended for its original owner. http://www.macrumors.com/2014/10/22/apple-1-computer-905000/ |
