류현진, CBS 스포츠 사이영상 투표 1위 "평균자책점 1위로 당연" 미 프로야구(MLB) LA 다저스의 류현진(32)이 미국 CBS 스포츠의 전반기 평가에서 내셔널리그(NL) 사이영상 투표 1위를 차지했다. CBS 스포츠는 중간 평가 형태로 양대리그 최우수선수(MVP), 사이영상, 신인상 등을 예상해보는 투표를 진행해 그 결과를 11일(한국 시각) 공개했다. 류현진은 1위 표 4장, 2위 표 1장을 받아 14점으로 NL 사이영상 부문 1위에 올랐다. 2위는 10점을 획득한 맥스 셔저(워싱턴 내셔널스)다. 류현진은 전반기를 10승 2패, 평균자책점 1.73의 기록으로 마감했다. 지난 10일 올스타전에는 한국인 최초 내셔널리그 팀의 선발 투수로 마운드에 올라 1이닝 1안타 무실점 투구를 선보였다. CBS 스포츠는 정규리그를 절반 이상 치른 시점에서 류현진이 MLB 평균자책점 1위에 올라있어 사이영상 투표에서 앞서나갈 수 있다고 평가했다. 이어 류현진이 17번의 등판에서 16번은 2자책점 이하로, 11번은 1자책점 이하로 던졌다는 설명도 곁들였다. With 55.3 percent of the 2019 regular season is in the books -- 1,345 of 2,430 regular season games have been played -- and the All-Star break entering its dark period, this is as good a time as any to dole out midseason awards. After all, those first half games counted too.
To hand out our midseason awards, our five CBS Sports MLB scribes (R.J. Anderson, Katherine Acquavella, Mike Axisa, Dayn Perry, Matt Snyder) each cast a hypothetical ballot for each award (MVP, Cy Young, Rookie and Manager of the Year). Our rules:
Our individual ballots for each award were only three names deep. In reality, the MVP ballot is 10 players deep and the Cy Young ballot is five players deep. Rookie of the Year and Manager of the Year each include three slots.
The scoring system: Three points for a first place vote, two points for a second place vote, and one point for a third place vote. Most points wins. Nice and easy.
