South Koreans ‘more worried about Trump than North Korea’, says Gareth Evans

  한국 사람들은 북한의 위협 증가에도 불구하고 북한보다 미 트럼프에  대해 더 우려하고 

있다고 호주 전  외무부 장관 가레스 에반스가 언급했다.

ABC방송과의 7:30 인터뷰에서 북한이 어제 ICBM발사를 최고도에서 최초 성공했다고 

주장했음에도  한국사람들은 미 대통령이 더 많은 관심을 가지고 있다는 것을 알게된 점은  

"매우 명백한 사실이다"라고 말했다.

김정은의 행동은 다소 특이하며 보기 추해보이기도 하지만 어떤 사람들도 그가 정신나갔다고 

생각하지는 않는다.

"한국을 가거나 여론조사를 볼때 도대체 관심을 끌만한 점은 무엇일까?

한국 사람들은 ICBM을 쏘아올린 북한보다 트럼프에 더 많은 우려를 하는 것이 명백해졌다."

(북한 사람들은 자신들이 포로로 잡히거나 사는 곳이 황폐화가 될 수도 있는 실제적인 충돌 

상황에까지 가 있다.)

지난 화요일 미관리들은 북한의 이번이 탄도미사일 발사 시험이 가장 많은 거리를 날아갔다고 언급했다.

이것은 김정은이 미국의 알래스카를 공격할 수 있는 능력을 보유하고 있을 수도 있다는 것을 의미한다.

이 미사일은 37분간이나 날아갔으며 고도 2,414km에 도달했다.

전문가들은 이것은 실제 최대 사거리가 6,437km라고 평가하고 있다.

미사일 발사 후에 트럼프는 트위터에서 김정은을 무시했다. 

"북한이 방금 또하나의 미사일을 발사했다. 이자는 목숨과도 바꿀만한 또 다른 무엇을 가지고 있나?"

김정은은 미국에 결기를 보여줄 것이며 결코 핵폐기 같은 협상같은 것은 없을 것이라고 맹세했다.

트럼프는 이 지역에 있는 미국의 동맹 즉 일본이나 한국 등이 핵야망을 분쇄시키기 위해 북한에 압력을 

넣어 줄 것을 요청하기도 했다.

트럼트는 또한 "한국 일본이 그동안 북한에 핵위협의 오랜 인고의 세월을 보냈다는 것이 믿기 힘들다.

아마도 중국은 북한에 대한 중압을 가할 것이며 결국 단번에 끝낼 것이다"라고 말했다.

SOUTH Koreans are more worried about Donald Trump than they are about the increasing threat presented by their rogue neighbour, according to former Australian foreign minister Gareth Evans.

In an interview with ABC 7.30, Mr Evans said it was “very clear” that South Koreans found the US President more concerning — despite the fact that North Korea yesterday claimed to have successfully launched its first intercontinental ballistic missile, a paradigm-changing event and the nation’s highest ever missile test.

“Well Kim Jong-un’s behaviour is often rather idiosyncratic, it’s also often very ugly but I don’t think anybody thinks he’s nuts,” he told 7.30.

“And what’s interesting, when you go to South Korea or look at the opinion polls in South Korea, it’s very clear South Koreans are more worried about Donald Trump than they are about the North Koreans in terms of what might trigger an actual conflict in which they’d be caught up and devastated.”

US officials on Tuesday said North Korea’s ballistic missile flew longer than any North Korean missile test conducted by the rogue regime to date.

This means Kim’s dictatorship may now possess the ability to strike the US state of Alaska.

The missile flew for 37 minutes and reached a height of 2414km, leading missile experts to conclude it could have reached a target 6437km away.

President Trump mocked Kim Jong-un over Twitter after the launch, writing: “North Korea has just launched another missile. Does this guy have anything better to do with his life?”

He also suggested America’s allies in the region — Japan and South Korea — will put pressure on the North Korean regime to rein in its nuclear ambitions.

“Hard to believe that South Korea..... and Japan will put up with this much longer. Perhaps China will put a heavy move on North Korea and end this nonsense once and for all!”
