Russian billionaire's plans for a floating nation in SPACE called Asgardia (which could be used as a tax haven) take a step closer to reality with launch of maiden data satellite later this year

러시아의 억만장자가 '아스가르디아('Asgardia)라는 우주국가를 건설한다.
아스가르디아는 전세계의 하나의 독립된 국가로서 유엔의 멤버가 되기를 원하고 있으며 인류를 보호하기 위한 방어쉴드도 만들 계획이다.
이 우주 국가에는 러시아와 미국 등 4개국 우주개발 전문가 그룹이 참여하고 있다.
오스트리아 비엔나에 본부를 두고 있는 항공우주국제연구소(AIRC/Aerospace International Research Cente)r는, “아스가르디아는 독자적으로 운영되며 다른 나라의 영향을 받지 않는 그야말로 ‘신국가’를 목표로 하고 있다.”고 밝혔다
아스가르디아 계획을 보면, 이 국가는 1개 이상의 중심이 된 "코어·새틀라이트"와 그것을 둘러싼 클러스터 모양의 위성이나 보호 플랫폼으로 이루어진다. 또 우주국가의 구조에 대한 더 이상 자세한 언급은 피하고 있지만, 그것은 "미래적인 참가자를 늘리기 위해서"라는 설명으로 돼있다.
파리에서 개최된 컨퍼런스에서 프로젝트 리더 이고르 아슈루베일리(Igor Ashurbeyli) 씨는 아스가르디아의 창립 철학 및 법규, 과학적인 목적을 선언했다. 더욱이 "지구인"에 대해 국민으로서 참가하거나, 국기 등에 대한 디자인에 협력하도록 요구하고 있다.
Ashurbeyli 씨에 따르면, "이는 어머니 지구를 벗어나 생활권을 우주로 넓힌다는 인류의 영원한 꿈의 실현이다. 아스가르디아 정신은 지구 인류를 디지털화하고 국가나 종교, 인종으로부터 개방된 인간성을 우주로 이식시키는 것이다. 즉 아스가르디아 속에서 우리는 그 어떤 구별도 없는 보통 ‘인간’이 될 것이다".……
또한, 아스가르디아는 우주 국가 최초의 국민도 모집하고 있다. Asgardia웹 사이트에서 응모가 가능하고 최초 10만 명에게는 특권이 주어진다. 그리고 국기, 휘장, 국가(國歌)도 널리 모집하고 있다.
또한 AIRC의 멤버는 최초의 위성을 내년에 쏘아 올리겠다고 하고 있다. 아스가르디아에 참여하려면 이름과 메일 주소만으로 가능하므로 지구에서의 생활이 지겨운 사람은 등록해보는 것도 좋을지도 모를 일이다.

It might seem like an idea taken straight out of science fiction, but a 'space nation' could soon become a reality.
The ambitious plans, first announced last year, were hatched by an international group of scientists and are backed by a Russian billionaire.
The team is led by Dr Igor Ashurbeyli, pictured, founder
of the Aerospace International Research Center
The floating nation, dubbed 'Asgardia', is set to take its first step into space later this year with the launch of its maiden data satellite.
The satellite will test the concept of long-term data storage in orbit around Earth.
It could pave the way for off-planet data and tax havens floating in space.
