중국 저장(浙江) 성의 한 동물원에서 한 남성 관광객이 호랑이에 물려 숨지는 사고가 발생했다.
동물원 직원들은 공포탄과 폭죽 등을 이용해 호랑이를 쫓은 뒤 이 남성을 병원으로 이송했으나 남성은 치료 도중 숨졌다.
이 남성은 춘제(春節·중국의 설)를 맞아 아내와 아들과 함께 이 동물원을 찾은 것으로 알려졌다.
사고가 난 호랑이 우리와 관람 구역 사이에는 물웅덩이가 있어 쉽게 넘어갈 수 없는 구조다.
한 목격자는 "이 남성이 호랑이 우리를 넘어가 가까운 거리에서 호랑이를 놀리다가 물렸다"고 당시 상황을 설명했다.
동물원 관계자는 "사람을 문 호랑이는 사살했으며, 정확한 사고 경위는 경찰 조사가 끝나봐야 알 수 있다"고 말했다.
중국에서는 지난해 7월에도 베이징(北京) 연칭(延慶)현에 있는 바다링(八達嶺) 야생동물원에서 여성 관광객 2명이 호랑이에 물려 1명이 숨지고, 1명이 다치는 사고가 났다.
앞서 2015년 8월에도 친황다오(秦皇島) 야생동물원에서 차에서 벗어난 여성 관광객 한 명이 호랑이 공격으로 사망하는 일이 일어났다. 출처 연합뉴스

A young man has been killed by a tiger in front of his horrified wife and child after getting dragged into its zoo enclosure.
The incident occurred at the Youngor Wildlife Park in the city of Ningbo, about 200 kilometres (125 miles) south of Shanghai.
An onlooker took footage of the tiger dragging the man under some trees and sinking its teeth into his neck as two other big cats lurked behind.
