Marvel hero 'Iron Man' is unusual in that he has no super powers.

Instead, creator Tony Stark dons a state-of-the-art super suit to fight crime which can fly and fire lasers from its palms.

Now, thanks to the work of a Chinese toy firm, you can own a life-size version - as long as you're willing to spend £290,000 ($360,000).

THE FIGURINE'S STATS

Most 12-inch (30cm) figures of the hero come nowhere near this level of intricacy.

But the huge new suit, at 7.8 foot (240 cm) tall and weighing 80kg (176 lbs), takes the concept of figurine to new heights.

It costs £290,000 ($360,000)

Uses 46 motors to power an intricate network of over 567 moving parts.

The suit opens up but buyers cannot climb inside.

There is an eight month wait before the armour reaches buyers' doors.

It comes with a display stand to proudly exhibit the expensive figurine.

Pre-orders of the suit began yesterday, and only 50 of the replicas are available.

The life-sized suit, created by Toy Asia,  can completely open up - just as it does in the films - to reveal its complex inner workings.

The suit uses 46 motors to power an intricate network of over 567 moving parts.

A push of the figure's remote begins a 28-second long transformation.

And it looks hugely similar to Tony Stark's suit.

Unfortunately for any budding superheroes, the inside of the suit is not large enough for somebody to actually climb into the armour.

There is currently an eight-month wait before the armour reaches buyers' doors.

But once in the home, it comes with a display stand to proudly exhibit the expensive figurine.

The Toys Asia is a Shenzhen-based company that has been active since 2014, when it was granted a licence to produce life-size toys under the Marvel banner.

In a Facebook post announcing the opening of pre-orders yesterday, the company said: 'Costing 2.5 million RMB, the development process of MK43 took two years.'

'By a light press on the remote button, MK43 will response immediately and start the 28 second armor opening process.

'After that, a soundtrack of the series movies will be played in order to reappear the classical movie scene in the most realistic way.'

MARK ZUCKERBERG'S IRON MAN STYLE HOME AI SYSTEM

Earlier this year, Mark Zuckerberg revealed he was dedicating his year to making a home AI butler based on Tony Stark's Jarvis in the Iron Man films.

A few months later, he revealed it - and not only can it control his home, but can also entertain his daughter Max, and even fire him a trademark grey t-shirt.

'My personal challenge for 2016 was to build a simple AI to run my home -- like Jarvis in Iron Man,' said Zuckerberg.

'My goal was to learn about the state of artificial intelligence - where we're further along than people realize and where we're still a long ways off.

'So far this year, I've built a simple AI that I can talk to on my phone and computer, that can control my home, including lights, temperature, appliances, music and security, that learns my tastes and patterns, that can learn new words and concepts, and that can even entertain Max.'

To create the AI, Zuckerberg was able to use Facebook's internal tools.

'It uses several artificial intelligence techniques, including natural language processing, speech recognition, face recognition, and reinforcement learning, written in Python, PHP and Objective C,' he explained.

The system is modelled on the J.A.R.V.I.S. stands for (Just A Rather Very Intelligent System) system used by Tony Stark in the Iron Man films.

'I'll do in a heartbeat if Bettany gets paid and donates it to a cause of Cumberbatch's choosing...that's the right kind of STRANGE!' the Iron Man actor responded.
