1. Ssangyong & Besix to build $1.4bn Royal Atlantis

Ssangyong Engineering & Construction has confirmed that it has secured the contract to build the $1.4bn Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, according to The National.
The South Korean construction outfit will conduct construction work in conjunction with Besix subsidiary, Six Construct.
In comments made to The National, Ssangyong’s Middle East managing director, Joon Hun Kim, described the Royal Atlantis as “another landmark for Dubai”.
The news follows Six Construct’s August 2015 confirmation that it would bid on the $1.4bn project. Commenting at the time, Pierre Sironval, managing director of Besix’s Middle Eastern arm, said: “We will submit the bid next week for Dubai’s second Atlantis, to be built on the Palm island in Dubai.”

2. JV wins $409m deal to build Turkey gas pipeline

A joint venture between Punj Lloyd and Limak has secured a $409m contract to construct the 459km pipeline for the Tanap Gas Pipeline project in Turkey.
The Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP) will be built to transport natural gas emanating from the South Caucasus Pipeline Company (SCPC) pipeline in Georgia and terminating into the TransAdriatic Pipeline (TAP) in Greece.
The Tanap Dogalgaz Iletim-controlled project is expected to take 35 months to execute.
3. Ssangyong & CSCEC win $381m contract for Nakheel's Palm Gateway

Dubai developer Nakheel has awarded a construction contract worth nearly $381m (AED1.4bn) for The Palm Gateway,
a new, three-tower residential, retail and beach club complex at the foot of its flagship master development, Palm Jumeirah.
The company has appointed Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co and China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) to carry out the work, which is expected to begin in Q1 2016 and will take two years to complete.
The Palm Gateway includes 1,265 luxury homes across three high-rise buildings – the tallest topping 285 metres – to be constructed on top of the existing Palm Monorail terminal.

4. Punj Lloyd wins $304m oil & gas deals in Oman

Punj Lloyd has won several engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts worth $304m for oil and gas projects in Oman.
The Indian company sealed the deals from Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) and Oman Gas Company (OGC) which are owned by the Oman Government and Oman Oil Company.
Punj's scope of work includes the construction of a 300km natural gas liquid (NGL) pipeline and a 301km gas pipeline.
The gas pipeline is part of Orpic's $6.4bn Liwa Plastic Industries Complex (LPIC) and will travel from the New Fahud NGL Plant to the steam cracker unit at Sohar in Oman. The LPIC is expected to create more than 13,000 jobs for Omanis when fully developed.
The NGL pipeline, meanwhile, will run parallel to the existing Fahud – Sohar pipeline for OGC. The structure is being laid to supply gas for North Power station.
5. Dubai: RTA awards $41m Deira Islands bridge deal

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) confirmed it has awarded a deal for construction works at the city's Deira Palm Island project.
Contract scope includes the construction of the Deira Palm Island Entrance Bridge, and opening the waterway underneath the bridge to serve a planned marina, and the new fish market.
The total value of the deal is worth $40.8m (AED150m).
The project also includes opening the waterway by removing about two million cubic meters of drilling materials at the three reclamation points, and constructing the side walls of the canal up to the marina of the fish market.
Other operations include lighting, sewage and asphalt works, protecting and shifting existing utility lines, and extending service lines through bridges.
