Turkey ready to build 800,000 Saudi housing units

  터키 부수상 메흐메트 심세크가 사우디의 주택 건설에 강한 의지를 표시했다.

제다 경제포럼의 소식통의하면  심세크는 "만일 사우디가 요청한다면 향후 10년내 사우디에 80만호의 주택을 건설할 수 있다"고 밝혔다고 전했다.

이어 "우리는 6년동안 터키에 65만호의 주택을 건설했다"고 사우디 현지신문을 통해 언급하며

현재 300억불에 달하고 있는 사우디에 대한 투자를 늘리려고 계획하고 있다고 밝혔다.

사우디는 이미 터키에 150억불을 투자하고 있으며 전력, 통신, 부동산 부문 투자를 종전의 60억불의 2배로 늘릴 계획으로 있으며 800여개의 회사가 다양한 경제분야에 투자하고 있다.

터키는 그간 사우디의 2백만호 주택건설 프로젝트 참여 기회를 기다려왔다.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek has expressed his country's willingness to build homes in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on the side-lines of the Jeddah Economic Forum, Şimşek said Turkey could provide up to 800,000 housing units in the Kingdom within 10 years - if asked to participate in Saudi projects.

"We were able to build 650,000 units in Turkey within six years," he told Saudi Daily Al Iktisadiah. 

Şimşekn said his country is willing to increase the level of investments in the Kingdom, which currently stands at $30bn.

Saudis are already investing $15billion in Turkey, and seeking to double this amount in the future with investments focused in power, telecommuniactions and real estate - the former adding up to $6bn. 

There are close to 800 Saudi companies investing in various economic sectors in Turkey.
