'스탠드 바이 미'(Stand By Me)를 부른 미국의 흑인 리듬앤드블루스(R&B) 가수 벤 E. 킹이 

4월 30일 76세를 일기로 그의 뉴저지 자택에서 생을 마감했다. 

벤 E. 킹은 1958년 활동을 시작해 현재까지도 왕성한 활동을 펼쳐왔다.

스탠바이 미는, 

드립터즈의 리드 보컬로 활동하다가 61년에 솔로로 독립한 벤 E. 킹이 발표한 R & B의 

스탠다드 넘버이다. 1986년 영화 '스탠바이 미'의 테마곡으로 사용되기도 했다.

그를 추모하며....
