A glorious blast of summery weather has arrived across the UK, finishing off the bank holiday weekend with clear skies and the days turning warm.
So warm in fact, that this brave soul strolling the beach in Cornwall yesterday did not feel the need for any clothes at all.
The unnamed walker kept only her sun hat on for her walk along Pedn Vounder Beach, accompanied by her two dogs.
The seasons seemed to turn before our eyes after Good Friday, as the clouds parted and the sun shone.
Stunning: The peaks of the Lake District, in Cumbria, enjoyed sunshine yesterday as Britain basked in a warm Easter weekend
Temperatures jumped by nearly 10C (18F) in many parts over the course of the weekend, with England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland each recording their hottest day of the year.
And the glorious weather is predicted to last throughout the coming week, although temperatures are predicted to be slightly cooler than the 20.7C (69F) recorded in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, on Sunday or 19.5C (67F) in Astwood Bank, Worcestershire, yesterday.
It means the wet and dismal conditions of Good Friday, when few places in the country saw temperatures higher than 10C (50F) or 11C (52F), will thankfully be a distant memory.
The high pressure system which brought the warm weather in from the Atlantic on Sunday will hover over Britain until Friday, promising clear, sunny days.

Met Office forecaster Craig Snell said: ‘Overall this week is going to stay largely settled.
‘It will be slightly cooler than the highs we saw over the weekend but we will have clear, dry weather, with daytime temperatures in most places reaching about 14C (57F) to 16C (61F).’
But he warned: ‘Overnight there is a risk of frost and gardeners need to be aware of that. It will be chilly. Towns and cities will stay above freezing at 4C (39F) to 6C (43F) but away from them temperatures will fall to around zero and there will be ground frost and pockets of local air frost.’
By Thursday temperatures are expected to rise again, reaching 19C (66F) in parts – but from Friday strengthening winds and a band of thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain will move from the west.
The average UK temperature for April is 11.4C (52F) and for England is 12.4C (54F), according to Met Office records. The highest temperature recorded on an Easter Sunday was on April 23, 2011, when the mercury hit 27.8C (82F). Two years later, on March 31, 2013, it plunged to -12.5C (9F).
The changeable Easter weekend follows a March that was sunnier than average, continuing the trend after the sunniest winter since records began in 1929.
The weather last month was also drier than average, with England receiving just 62 per cent of its expected rainfall.
