London (CNN)The world finally has its first glimpse of Prince Harry and Meghan's newborn son, and his name is Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared in front of selected media behind closed doors on Wednesday, cradling their first child, who was was born at 5:26 a.m. Monday morning, weighing 7lbs 3oz.

 

영국 해리왕자 메건 마클 왕자비 평범한 아이 이름 작명 아치 해리슨 마운트배튼-윈저(Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor) 엘리자베스 2세 영국 여왕의 여덟 번째 증손자   영국 해리(34) 왕자와 부인 메건 마클(37) 왕자비가 최근 태어난 첫째 아이 작명과 관련해 기존 왕실 전통에 따르기보다 평범한 조합을 선택해 관심을 끈다. 9일(현지시간) 공영 BBC 방송 등에 따르면 해리 왕자 부부는 전날 첫째 아이 이름을 '아치 해리슨 마운트배튼-윈저'(Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor)로 정했다고 밝혔다.  지난 6일 태어난 아치는 엘리자베스 2세 영국 여왕의 여덟 번째 증손자이다.  영국 언론들은 이름이 공개되자 다소 놀랍다는 반응을 보이고 있다. 그동안 영국 도박업체들은 남자 아이 이름으로 알렉산더, 제임스, 아서 등이 가능성이 큰 것으로 전망했다.  '아치'는 독일 어원을 가진 이름으로 '아치볼드'(Archibald)의 축약형이지만 최근에는 그 자체로 이름으로 사용되는 경우가 많다.  'genuine'(진실한, 순수한), 'bold' 또는 'brave'(용감한, 대담한) 등의 뜻을 가지고 있다.  영국 왕실과 관련된 특별한 의미를 담고 있지는 않다는 설명이다.   https://www.mk.co.kr/news/world/view/2019/05/306292/

The couple then shared their chosen name on Instagram with an image of Queen Elizabeth, the Duke of Edinburgh and Meghan's mother meeting their newest great-grandchild.

Harry said becoming a parent was "amazing" as he held his son in his arms. "We're just so thrilled to have our bundle of joy. We're looking forward to spending some precious time with him as he slowly starts to grow up," he said.

Meghan said their son has the "sweetest temperament." "It's magic, it's pretty amazing. I mean I have the two best guys in the world. So I'm really happy," she gushed.
