The machine consists of a robotic arm on wheels that can perform ultrasounds, take mouth swabs and listen to sounds made by a patient's organs.

Medics don't need to be in the same room as the patient to operate the robot from a laptop, or even in the same city.
The technology has been designed to restrict the spread of the highly contagious illness to medical staff, who risk their lives to treat patients.
