Scientists have created music that is literally out of this world.
Researchers have made a two-minute symphony from the 5,000th Mars sunset photographed by Nasa's Opportunity rover.
The piece was composed by re-interpreting data from the robot's on-board particle detector into musical notes.
Researchers at Anglia Ruskin University and University of Exeter created the piece of music by scanning photographs of the sunset pixel by pixel from left to right.
They used brightness, colour and terrain data from the rover to create specific pitches and melodies - a process known as 'data sonification'.
The other worldly tune - dubbed The Mars Soundscapes - is due to receive its world premiere at the Supercomputing SC18 Conference in Dallas next week.
Played alongside a video of the sunrise, the melody will be the closest most people can get to a first-hand experience of the sun rising on the red planet.
