World’s first 'wind-free' AC launched in Saudi Arabia

   The world’s first 'wind-free' wall-mounted air-conditioner (AC) was launched at the HVACR Expo in Jeddah, being held between 14 and 16 January, 2018.

At the AHR Expo, Samsung is also showcasing the world’s first wall-mounted Wind-FreeTM AC, the AR9500M.

삼성전자, 사우디 제다에 무풍 에어콘 벽걸이형 선보여 

  삼성전자가 세계 최초로 개발한 무풍 에어콘 벽걸이형이 사우디 제다 냉동공조엑스포(1/14~16)에 선을 보였다. 이 바람없는 에어콘은 사우디 기후에 최적화 출시됐다.

삼성전자는 2016년 1월 25일 세계 최초로 바람 없이도 실내온도를 균일하게 유지해 주는 '무풍냉방' 기술을 적용한 '무풍에어컨 Q9500'을 출시했다. '무풍에어컨 Q9500'은 에어컨의 찬 바람이 몸에 직접 닿는 것을 불편해하는 사람들을 위한 제품이다. 

바람이 불어오는 각도를 약 3도 기울어지도록 디자인된 ‘포물선 회오리바람’으로 온도를 낮춰 소비자가 원하는 설정온도에 도달한 뒤에는 ‘메탈쿨링 패널’로 바람없이 냉기를 유지한다.

This AC, designed for the typical Saudi Arabian climate, has integrated Samsung’s Wind-Free Cooling technology into its design, and promises to provide cooler indoor climates and optimal energy efficiency, without the discomfort of direct, cold airflow.

Ismail Yoon, managing director at Samsung Gulf Electronics Saudi Arabia, said: “Consumers will love the cool, efficient air-conditioning capabilities of the Wind-Free Air-conditioner in their living and working spaces. 

“And they will really love that they no longer have to deal with uncomfortable, cold air, as well as reduced electricity bills.”

The Wind-Free Air-conditioner provides customers with the ideal condition by maintaining a comfortable room temperature, using Wind-Free Cooling to gently disperse cold air through 21,000 micro air holes. 

Using Samsung’s new digital inverter 8-Pole with Powerboost technology, the compressor’s motor generates fewer torque fluctuations, thereby reducing the overall energy required and shortening the time needed for the compressor to reach its maximum rotation speed.

The AC is also Wi-Fi-enabled so it can be controlled through Samsung’s smart home app.

Users can remotely regulate temperature, adjust settings, receive real time updates about performance and daily energy usage, as well as troubleshoot solutions when a repair is needed, the company said.
