베트남 전쟁(1955년 11월 1일 – 1975년 4월 30일)
베트남 전쟁은 제1차 인도차이나 전쟁 이후 분단되었던 베트남에서 1955년 11월 1일부터 1975년 4월 30일까지 사이에 벌어진 전쟁이다. 이 전쟁은 분단된 남북 베트남 사이의 내전임과 동시에 냉전시대에 자본주의 진영과 공산주의 진영이 대립한 대리 전쟁 양상을 띠었고, 1964년 8월부터 1973년 3월까지는 미국 등 외국 군대가 개입하고 캄보디아·라오스로 전선이 확대되어 국제전으로 치러졌다. 출처 위키백과

The Vietnam War(1955– 1975)
The Vietnam War (Vietnamese: Chiến tranh Việt Nam), also known as the Second Indochina War,[59] and known in Vietnam as the Resistance War Against America (Vietnamese: Kháng chiến chống Mỹ) or simply the American War, was a war that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 November 1955[A 1] to the fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. It was the second of the Indochina Wars and was officially fought between North Vietnam and the government of South Vietnam. The North Vietnamese army was supported by the Soviet Union, China and other communist allies and the South Vietnamese army was supported by the United States, South Korea, Australia, Thailand and other anti-communist allies. The war is therefore considered a Cold War-era proxy war.
