오만 OPWP, 올 11월에 민자 담수 플랜트 시공사 결정


한국의 GS Inima, 를 비롯 JGC,  ACWA , Tedagua 등 

4개 컨소시엄 입찰 참여

사업비 2억7천2백만불 규모


Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) will award an independent seawater desalination project in Sharqiyah in October 2017


The announcement was made by Yaqoob bin Saif Al Kiyumi, chief executive officer of OPWP.


Four consortiums, JGC, GS Inima, ACWA and Tedagua, led by international developers are bidding for a license to develop the Independent Water Project (IWP), which will have a desalination capacity of 17.6 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD).


According to Times of Oman, the plant is expected to start operations in the third quarter of 2019, aimed at meeting growing demand for potable water.


Al Kiyumi said that another IWP in the Sultanate’s southern Salalah region, which will have a desalination capacity of 22 MIGD, got delayed and the same will be awarded in the fourth quarter of 2017. 




The total investment for both the desalination projects is estimated at $272m.
