Korea’s HanmiGlobal offering construction solutions for solar power facilities in Chile

South Korea’s leading construction management (CM) company HanmiGlobal Co. said on Monday that it has won an order to oversee construction of solar power generating facilities in Chile, becoming the first industry player in Korea to be engaged in construction management service of renewable energy sector in the South American country. 


According to the company, the order involves coordinating construction projects of solar power generating facilities in seven regions across Chile - in Diego de Almagro for a 9.4 megawatt (MW) facility, Metropolitan Santiago (10.2 MW and 8.3 MW), Quinta Valparaiso (6.6 MW), Libertador General Bernado O Higgins (3.5MW), San Vicente de Tagua Tagua (9.5MW), and Talca (10.4MW). 


The order was placed by a joint company set up by Korea Southern Power Co., S-Energy Co., and a financial investor, with S-Energy being responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction and Chile’s Coordinador Electrico Nacional (CDEC) for strategic sales. 




Total construction period will be 14 months based on a budget of about 75 billion won ($67.2 million).
