Korean firms win US$200 mln solar farm deal in Guam

The state-run Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) said Tuesday that it has won a US$200 million deal to build a solar power farm and a storage facility in the U.S. territory of Guam.
Under the pact with the Guam Power Authority (GPA), the KECPO and LG CNS Co., an IT system unit of LG Group, will build the 60 megawatt-generating solar farm and the energy storage system (ESS) with a capacity of 420 MWh on the Pacific island.
Starting in December 2019, the consortium will sell electricity generated from the solar farm for 25 years, with the revenue estimated to reach $420 million in total.
The consortium was selected as the preferred bidder for the project in February.
