A cat has nine lives. Bakers have a dozen and one of something. Mick Jagger has eight children. All seems right with the world. The 73-year-old Rolling Stones legend and the ballerina Melanie Hamrick welcomed a baby boy today. The news broke in July that they were expecting a child after two years of dating. When reached for comment, Jagger’s publicist told Vanity Fair that their new son “was born today in New York and [the parents] are both delighted. Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time.”

The child joins the other Mick Jagger offspring on this earth, who include the following in order of age: Karis Hunt Jagger (46), whose mother is Marsha Hunt, and Jade Jagger (45) whose mother is his ex-wife Bianca. He had Elizabeth (32), James (31), Georgia, (24), and Gabriel (18) with former partner Jerry Hall. He and Brazilian model Luciana Gimenez have Lucas (17). Sir Mick also has five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jagger is in good company, too. His bandmate Ronnie Wood and wife Sally Humphreys welcomed twin girls this past May, just a month shy of Wood’s 69th birthday in 2016.
