Microsoft has unveiled its first all in one PC.
The $3,000 Surface Studio has a 28inch touchscreen and what the firm says is 'the world's thinnest screen', which can be folded down to a 20-degree viewing angle - similar to slanted desks found in art studios - to give users more room to be creative, the technology giant said.
The new all in one PC has the processing and power components built into the base, and comes with a new 'dial' controller with haptic feedback that can be used alongside a mouse, keyboard, stylus or finger.

'It's not just a beautiful PC, it was made to make you more creative, Panos Panay, Corporate Vice President for Surface Computing said at a New York launch event.
It has a 'zero gravity hinge' that can be easily moved depending on whether the user is drawing, writing or using it horizontally like a drafting board.
'This is a new way to create, a new way to produce, it's absolutely a new way to work,' said Panay.
'You can pick any angle, any position you want,' he added, demonstrating the hinge.
It will go on sale in time for Christmas and cost $3,000, although Microsoft warned there would be 'limited quantities' available.

The display outputs 13.5 million pixels, according to Panay, which is 63 percent more than a 4K television.
The technology giant also announced an updated version of the Surface Book laptop - the Surface Book i7 - one that Microsoft claims is 'three times more graphics power' than Apple's 13-inch MacBook Pro.
The firm claims the new version has two times as much processing power and 30 percent more battery life, all in the exact same design.
The three new Surface Book models feature 6th Generation Intel Core i7 processors, and will begin at $2399.

'With Surface Book with Performance Base, engineers can spin 3-D CAD models with thousands of parts, designers and developers can render large files quickly, and gamers can play more of their favorite games,' the firm said.
'No other laptop combines similar battery life, performance and pixels in as lightweight a package.'
Microsoft also unveiled a major update to Windows 10 will be launched in early 2017, called the Creators Update and including a 3D version of the popular Paint app.
The Creators Update will be released to all current users of Windows 10 for free in 'early spring'.

It will include Paint 3D, a version of the long-standing drawing app that will enable users to sketch in 3D for the first time, as well as edit and import parts from 2D photos to create three-dimensional scenes that can be saved and shared on social media.
Microaoft also revealed that a range of virtual reality accessories and headsets to support the Creators Update
will be released in 2017. Headsets from HP, Dell, Lenovo , Asus and Acer will be available from $299.
The technology giant made the announcement during a live event in New York, and also revealed that 3D editing features will be introduced to long-standing programmes - including PowerPoint - giving users the chance to create 3D presentations.
A new 3D Capture tool for smartphones was also announced, which will enable users to scan physical items and insert them into images.

The Surface Dial might look more like a hockey puck than state-of-the-art computing gadget, but its looks are deceiving.
It integrates with Windows 10 to work with any Surface device for a faster and more intuitive way to scroll, zoom, and navigate.

When a user rotates the Dial, it controls what appears on the screen, it can also be used to zoom in and out or navigate around the screen.

It uses haptic feedback to register the click of different options along the way.
'It also enables a set of unique experiences exclusive to Surface Studio, such as app-specific digital tools that allow you to quickly access shortcuts and move seamlessly through your workflow,' the company said.
Microsoft described the device as a 'companion' to Surface Pen users.
The Surface Dial will retail for $99, and its pre-orders begin tomorrow.

Microsoft also discussed gaming, announcing a new live broadcasting feature called Beam that will enable users to share their gaming with friends as they play.

The new feature will be a direct rival to the Amazon-owned Twitch platform, which also currently enables users to live stream their games online as they play them and has more than 100 million site visitors each month.
New social tools are also being added to Windows 10 via the Creators Update that will able users to place their most important contacts into the Windows task bar at the bottom of the home screen, from which users will be able to contact them in multiple ways, including email or Skype.
