We’re here, it’s arrived, the international break is over and, like me, I’m certain you’re overcome with emotion at the timely return of the Premier League Power Rankings.

(Cheers to the boys for sorting the Match of the Day theme tune, nice touch.)


For some reason England’s ability to make us all despise football lasted far longer than usual this time around, a dour 0-0 draw with Slovenia reminded us who was in charge of leading the entertainment.


Fair play to Gareth Southgate though, he’s at least made the thought of watching beige paint dry while stood in the post office cue, eating rice cakes and making small talk with the bloke from the tax office seem like a pretty fun thing to do.


For that, I salute you.


6. Heung-Min Son

Heung-Min Son or Son Heung-Min (you decide), is very slowly becoming a poster boy for these here Power Rankings.


Being the bad man that he is, he taught Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino to never drop him to the bench in favour of that donkey competent Dutch striker Vincent Janssen ever again.



Son has already destroyed Harry Kane’s career by filling the void left by the Englishman, don’t make him prove Janssen to be the £16million flop we all know he is.


With Son on the bench, Spurs limped to a 1-1 draw West Brom. You don’t get named Player of the Month for nothing:
