At first glance, this simply appears to be a rather intriguing wolf painting. Then you look again and start to notice that some of the details of the piece seem a little…off. Then you look again (or perhaps watch the video below) and realize that this is no wolf at all, but actually an incredible optical illusion composed of three perfectly painted women. The trick is so well done, that even when one knows that the image contains three humans rather than one wolf, it's still difficult to determine where one's limbs end and the other's begins.

Credit for the work is owed to the Italian-born artist Johannes Stötter, who has grown famous for his fantastic creations that make use of skillfully applied paint layers to disguise the human body. He has stunned his audience with a chameleon, a parrot, and many other amazing body-art creations. By transforming his human canvases with shading and flawlessly blended strokes of color, Stötter allows his art to comment on the unity between man and nature. Also his creative illusions are pretty darn cool.
